Materials: walnut, pine
Finish: garnet shellac
Construction Details
The subframe was made of quarter-sawn pine using half lap joints.
The walnut was resawn by hand from 4/4 and 8/4 stock.
I used a Stanley #66 hand beader and homemade scratch stock to profile the molding.
Assembled subframe and scrollwork cut from book-matched stock.
Molding is mitered and attached using hot hide glue.
Gluing up scrollwork using large rubber bands for clamps.
